The Shenandoah Quilt merges the energetic vibrance of Spring and the calming warmth of Autumn in my favorite mountain ridge in my home state of Virginia, but with a modern twist. Warm woven forest green and flaming red are combined with soft blues and vibrant pinks. A natural background keeps the quilt feeling warm and accessible. It was created using a pattern from Toad & Sew.
The quilt is backed with a vibrant floral cotton sateen from Melody Miller of Ruby Star Society, which has a slight sheen and incredibly smooth and soft texture.
This quilt was professionally long armed by Mindy Mounteer of Wild Phil Quilting in an organic zigzag pantograph that reminds me of modern illustrations of forests and trees. The quilt is bound in the same floral fabric as the backing.
